I was first introduced to your great store when my first child was born in 1992 and my good friend bought him the e=mc2 t-shirt in baby-size. I then visited the store and bought him the rubber duck t-shirt...so he was a Remo advertisement from birth. Good luck in your new venture. I will make sure to purchase some tees ASAP!

This new arrival comes into us from a number of directions. No less than 3 CustOMERs independently recommended them for our General Store "Special Things" range.

First up, in January 2007, there was Andrew Blake from Brisbane:
"Thought I'd suggest a product that I think would fit your lineup nicely and isn't sold in Australia to my knowledge. Bookdarts allow easy marking of pages/lines without damaging the book. You could even get custom Remo labels for the tins. Great for readers and researchers."

Then in August came Kim Bear from North Melbourne:
"Something I've been meaning to tell you about for ages is a fantastic reading product that I bought once at Barnes & Noble in SF. They are called Book Darts. I have never been able to buy them anywhere in Australia and I really want to be able to get them from you! I gave a pack to everyone in my book group and they're hooked too!"

Finally, In November we heard from Franwyn Jacka from Dumbalk North in Victoria:
"I have found a product that I thought you might be interested in. Have you heard of 'book darts'? They are little copper 'darts' that you use as a book mark "for exactly where you stopped" to quote the tin. I found them in my local second-hand bookstore. Made in the USA, "Archivally correct, a safe alternative to paperclips, underlining & highlighting. Will not stain." 100% Phos. bronze. They are really handy when studying to mark a line in a textbook."

Andrew gets the attribution and the REMO Points because he was first! However, we're also planning to send Kim and Franwyn a free tin with their next orders in thanks for the suggestion!

Q: So, what are they?
A: Small super-thin bronze clips that attach to pages without leaving a mark.

Book Darts are not just page markers. They are line markers ... referred to by many existing users as "indispensable" and even, in the words of one, "the greatest thing since pockets on shirts."

Book Darts were developed on Portland Oregon by Bob Williams, a former college and high school teacher (philosophy and English), librarian, archivist, boat builder, wood cutter, and printer. Bob's love for books initially spurred the idea for Book Darts. Marking a book with a pen or high-lighter, turning down page corners or using paper clips to tag important passages only shortens the book‘s life. Book Darts were developed to enrich the reading experience by allowing readers to mark important lines and easily re-find them without harming the pages (and, thus, to encourage re-reading).

The first Book Darts were made in a basement and required five separate hand operations using three tools. Now they are made much faster using a high speed press.

Nifty ... and perfect for us. Don't you think?

I've loved these for years, particularly because they don't warp the book page in any way. I bought them for my book club, too, and now they don't know how they did without them either. You only have to remember to take them out of the books - I've bought 3 lots of them, just trying to keep up with my reading and marking.

This has really made my Christmas. Along with all the new reading material I am expecting - I can happily dart away to make sure I can always find that brilliant quote again! Thanks so much Remo for tracking these down and making them available. Didn't know they came in a tin - added bonus. Cheers from the bookworm Kim
