I live in Melbourne. Whenever I visited my sister in Sydney we would make the pilgrimage to the Store in Oxford Street & spend time marvelling at all the treasures. The catalogues were my most eagerly awaited mail & in fact when I decoupaged my fairly sizable coffee table (still using it) I included quite a number of clippings from said catalogues. Feels like the 21st Century ain't so bad after all.

A beret is a most versatile thing. Over the centuries, it has been worn by: Romans, Renaissance men, lots of well dressed children, soldiers, Cuban revolutionaries, boy scouts, girl scouts, shepherds, Black Panthers, lots & lots of French people, and many others. It is essentially a visorless cap, but the simple design can be worn in a number of different ways: pulled down, pan cake, angled, etc.

In terms of origin, the beret is so old, that no one can be sure of its basic history; but it appears to have originated with the ancient Greeks and Romans.

Our beret is made in Australia from an imported woolen felt shell in a very basic black. The matching silk lining and a black leather trim took a while to organize, but we got there.

One adjustable size fits all.

We're told that film director Anthony Mingella is a longtime REMO Beret wearer. Someone needs to send us a photo!

I have had a beret for years originally bought for me by a friend. I has gone to Paris with me and Rome. Going to be hard to get one of Anthony Mingella, since his passed away in May. :(
